Luca Tarantino | Lecce

Luca studied musicology in Bologna, then classical guitar, electronic music and lute with Hopkinson Smith, Eduardo Eguez, Rolf Lislevand, Franco Pavan.
He toured and recorded with Concerto de'Cavalieri, Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini, I Barocchisti, Dramatodia, alongside artists such as Daniela Barcellona, ​​Anna Caterina Antonacci, Mariagrazia Schiavo, Vivica Genaux, Anne Hallenberg, Gemma Bertagnolli.
He created: Los Impossibles (w/ Vito de Lorenzi and Marco Bardoscia) - early flamenco sources; Ensemble Montesardo - vocal music by south-italian masters; voltAstella (w/ Paola Bonora and Matteo Zenatti) - ars nova; La Virtù Temporale (w/ Mauro Squillante and Mauro Borgioni) - an extraordinary corpus of vocal and instrumental music contained in the only manuscript for Mandolone and Battente Guitar.
With Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, recorded Focu d’Amore and Pizzica Indiavolata and toured the world.
With The Clogs by Bryce Dessner, he recorded the albums Lantern, and The Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton.

Since 2005, he took part to Sound Res, artistic-musical residence with David Cossin, Theo Bleckmann, Madan Gopal Singh, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, Patrick Watson & Wooden Arms, Mark Stewart.
His first solo work Il più bel fiore, dedicated to the Doni ms., collects many unpublished works by Andrea Falconieri and other lutenists.
